The need: Transform the historic, seven-story Globe Knitting Works Building located in Grand Rapids' Heartside District into individual apartments and commercial space.

The solution: Create 109 loft-style apartments with 10,000-square-feet of business and commercial space as well as an indoor pool, community room, and workout area.

To maximize space and alleviate a large "dead spot" in the center of the building, an internal atrium was created to maximize natural light and satisfy code. Each unit has a view of the atrium, high ceilings, large windows and exposed mechanical systems.
