Muskegon Community College Hendrick Meijer LIT Center | Muskegon, MI

The need: A larger library that serves MCC's growing student population, with an architectural design that enhances the college's image and blends in with the surrounding natural environment.

The solution: A major renovation and expansion of the three-story MCC library. New construction included a corridor on the third level that provides an internal link between the east and west sides of the building, and other linkages to improve barrier-free access.

Dramatic skylights and a wall of glass bathe the library in natural light, while offering a picturesque view of the lovely wooded landscape and stream. Features include public, private, and quiet reading rooms, wireless access, spacious classrooms and meeting rooms, and archival storage.
