WZZM13.com MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM)- Just three months after school and community leaders broke ground on it a new health center for teenagers is now open. The center is on the campus of Muskegon High School. Starting next week it will begin offering students and teenagers in the community a place to get affordable health care. The center will offer full dental, medical and behavioral health services. It will be open during school hours for students, and youth ages 10 to 21 during after school hours. Insured and uninsured teens are welcome and nobody will be turned away. Teen Health Center Manager Judy Pruim says, "Well starting Monday we are going to do sports physicals. We have been getting phone calls to get kids scheduled." The Teen Health Center will operate for the first two years on private donations and some federal match funds. It hopes to eventually be self-sufficient.
